The Politically Incorrect Show - 16/03/2000
[Music - Die Fledermaus]
Good afternoon, KAYA ORAAAA & welcome to the Politically Incorrect Show on the free speech network, Radio Pacific, for Thursday March 16, proudly sponsored by Neanderton Nicotine Ltd, the show that says bugger the politicians & bureaucrats & all the other bossyboot busybodies who try to run our lives with our money; that stands tall for free enterprise, achievement, profit & excellence against the state-worshippers in our midst; that stands above all for the most sacred thing in the universe, the liberty of the human individual.
[Music up, music down!]
Harry, the unabashed communist from Gore, who believes that quite literally everything should be nationalised - i.e. taken over & run by the "guvamint" - lost no time yesterday in phoning to support the de facto compulsory unionism effected by the new Employment Relations Bill. The granting of unions a monopoly in negotiating collective contracts was a fitting landmark on the occasion of the 100th day of the Labour/Alliance regime, symbolising eloquently the series of lurches backward & leftward of the previous 99 days. I'll say this for the new regime - it has moved with impressive speed its horrors to perform. It makes the former National Socialist Administration of Headmistress Shipley seem positively libertarian by comparison.
It has set up an $800,000 inquiry into lack of competition in the telecommunications industry just as Saturn & Telstra are poised to give Telecom & Clear a real run for their money. It has forbidden competition in the accident insurance industry, notwithstanding pleas from as far left as the Greens to allow the private competition that has driven premiums down to continue. It has turned the pseudo-mordi gravy-train into a veritable juggernaut, requiring all government departments to be answerable to Te Puni Kokiri. It has signalled its contempt for the tall poppies in our midst by raising the top rate of tax from 33 to 39 cents in the dollar; it has signalled its indifference to compliance costs for businesses by raising Fringe Benefit Tax & introducing a more complicated, three-tier form of it. It has destroyed over 5000 potential new jobs by raising the minimum wage. It has proclaimed its belief that government knows best by turning the Ministry of Commerce into the Ministry for Economic Development presided over by Comrade Neanderton. It has signalled its commitment to more dumbing down in education by its abolition of bulk funding. It has signalled its commitment to troglodytism by squashing TVNZ's plans for digitalisation, ending logging on the West Coast & making clear its opposition to genetic modification of food. It has announced its intention to go further in disarming its citizens than even the previous National Socialist regime proposed, with its intended "phasing out" of semi-automatic weapons. It has unashamedly foisted a new puritanism upon us, telling us what we should be watching on television & making clear its desire to prohibit the smoking of tobacco. All of this in only a hundred days.
Political scientist Nigel Roberts observes that the government has been "immeasurably aided by an extremely weak opposition." That is certainly a part of it. The essence of this government is that it is anti-freedom; the opposition parties are in no position to hoist freedom's banner. In power, they behaved similarly. No less than the members of the current dictatorship, they are scum.
But what chiefly has "immeasurably aided" this regime is the acquiescence of the sheeple. This is the perfect government for the snivelling, whining losers who make up the majority of the population of the Democratic People's Republic of Aotearoa. Half the country's voters live off Other People's Money. That percentage will go on increasing until economic reality avenges itself & the country implodes. The National Socialist administration in spite of itself bequeathed a relatively healthy economy which will delay the implosion somewhat. But an implosion there will inevitably be.
After a hundred days the communists are crowing. Harry is in his element. Let's see where we are after a hundred weeks.
Politically Incorrect Show, beating the bastards back ... 309 3099.
