The Politically Incorrect Show - 27/04/2000

[Music - Die Fledermaus]

Good afternoon, KAYA ORAAAA & welcome to the Politically Incorrect Show on the free speech network, Radio Pacific, for Thursday April 27, proudly sponsored by Neanderton Nicotine Ltd, the show that says bugger the politicians & bureaucrats & all the other bossyboot busybodies who try to run our lives with our money; that stands tall for free enterprise, achievement, profit & excellence against the state-worshippers in our midst; that stands above all for the most sacred thing in the universe, the liberty of the human individual.

[Music up, music down]

Today's editorial is about honesty & integrity. I broached these values yesterday when I cited ten Catholic bishops. These esteemed prelates have made a submission to the Ministry of Justice in response to its discussion paper on the legal status of same-sex relationships. They advocate a system of registration which gives same-sex couples certain legal rights comparable to those of married heterosexuals, including a 50/50 property split in the event of a relationship's breaking up. I have aired my view on this previously - that the state should keep its nose out of ALL relationships, apart from making sure that contracts are upheld if called upon. The point I want to make here is that these bishops have no business departing from their church's traditional teaching against homosexuality while still claiming to be Catholics. None is more bitterly opposed to that teaching than I, but I have even less respect for those who would reverse it in the church's name. What would the current pope's reaction be, I wonder, were he to read the bishops' submission?

The same is true of Christianity in general. Far be it from me to give helpful advice to my adversaries, but I would submit that the following are essential tenets for anyone to believe in if he wants to call himself a Christian: that God exists & is the creator of the universe; that Jesus was his son, immaculately conceived; that Jesus' mission was to provide man redemption from his sinful nature, inherited from Adam; that to that end Jesus was crucified but raised from the dead by his divine Daddy three days later; that those who repent of their sins & accept Jesus' offer will reap their eternal reward with their mentors in Heaven; that those who do not will suffer everlastingly in Hell. All poppycock as far as I'm concerned, but to be an honest Christian, I submit, one must accept all of it, at minimum. Today's mainstream churches, however, have succumbed to weasel-worded apologetics, playing down & in some cases even repudiating the basics, while preaching what they are pleased to call a "social gospel" that is really just The Communist Manifesto in clerical drag. Ironic, in a way, given that Karl Marx himself once said that the Anglican Church would more readily pardon an attack on thirty-eight of its thirty-nine articles than on one thirty-ninth of its income!

Religion, & Roman Catholicism in particular, has a lot to answer for, especially in regard to homosexuality. To this day, some of the most miserably guilt-ridden gays ARE miserably guilt-ridden BECAUSE OF their Catholic upbringing. But the bishops should come clean, & make an honest break of it. Pope Pius XI wrote that ANY form of sexual intercourse that is counter-procreational is a "sin against nature, shameful & intrinsically evil." Small wonder, he added, that "Holy Scripture bears witness that the Divine Majesty regards with detestation this horrible crime & at times has punished it with death."

Let the bishops explicitly renounce this dark doctrine & immerse themselves openly in the sunshine of reason. Let them acknowledge that their revisionism is NOT Catholicism. They can have no credibility preaching it from the shadows.
