The Politically Incorrect Show - 07/02/2001
[Music - Die Fledermaus]
Good afternoon, Kaya Oraaa & welcome to the Politically Incorrect Show on the free speech network, Radio Pacific, for Wednesday February 7, proudly sponsored by Neanderton Nicotine Ltd., the show that says bugger the politicians & bureaucrats & all the other bossyboot busybodies who try to run our lives with our money; that stands tall for free enterprise, achievement, profit, & excellence, against the state-worshippers in our midst; that stands above all for the most sacred thing in the universe, the liberty of the human individual.
[Music up, music down!]
What a blissful long weekend I had at my mother's. I read like a maniac - From The Fountainhead To The Future by Alexandra York, a series of essays on art & values which I shall have more to say about later in the week; The Contested Legacy Of Ayn Rand by David Kelley which I shall have more to say about in the next Free Radical; & a biography of Sidney James that Mum had, about which I shall have nothing more to say at all! I also caught some television - the superb Dr Bell & Mr Doyle: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes, with the outstanding Ian Richardson; a disappointing western with Dean Martin & Jimmy Stewart - & caught the tail end of a concert by the Grimethorpe Colliery RJB Band in Palmerston North, which was inspiring. More inspiration awaited me in my e-mail box when I returned to Auckland:
"I am very appreciative of your ongoing zeal for what seems to me to be a very worthy cause. I discovered by accident your website, then your radio show (when work permits) and am now about to subscribe to the Free Radical magazine and become a paid member of the Libertarianz party.
"I have e-mailed you to say that you have inspired me to 'convert' all at work and my immediate social circle who would listen to my ravings. I hope that these people will also carry the word to others. I know that this is only small stuff but I hope it could be a start to much more.
"My workplace is now a hotbed of liberals who constantly mock and ridicule the one moron who voted Labour during the last election. Maybe even he will come around some day.
"Most of the people at my work have paid dearly for their own education and are now reaping the rewards of hard work, professionalism and intelligence. We are sick of being robbed by organized thievery and did not know that there was a viable alternative to the current model of government until
recently.
"I have private health insurance because I don't trust the state to care for me if I am sick or injured. I have savings and investments in the event of losing my job plus work and income insurance. I have no dependents, just me and my wife who between us have a yearly income of over $200,000. For this we have worked very hard and long hours. My point is that if you are prepared to work you can achieve a comfortable existence. There is no excuse for stealing from others and no excuse for failing because of past wrongdoings. My wife was almost killed three times by her own family and my mother was a solo parent who scraped a living by working very hard. Never was my mother on a benefit and I guess this may have instilled in me a sense of survival and work ethic even though I was sexually abused as a child of five. I am sick of hearing all these PC clowns say things like 'it's not his fault because he had a difficult childhood' etc. I did not even have shoes until I was 11 and now I earn 4 times the average income.
"I get discouraged when it seems that only stupid people breed and do so without any thought to their financial or living situations. My wife and I have a savings account in the event of her getting pregnant - planned or unplanned, we are prepared. If we do have a child I would not trust the state to educate him or her as the education system taught me nothing useful.
"I know that I am preaching to the converted but some of these things I just had to get off my chest as I am sick of paying for all the useless breeding factories, dole-bludgers, state worshippers, polititians and PC morons that populate this otherwise excellent country. I hope you continue with your valuable fight for freedom knowing that you have our full support."
Now wasn't THAT a great welcome home? I can see I'm going to have to go away more often!
