The Politically Incorrect Show - 14/05/2001

[Music - Die Fledermaus]

Good afternoon, Kaya Oraaa & welcome to the Politically Incorrect Show on the free speech network, Radio Pacific, for Monday May 14, proudly sponsored by Neanderton Nicotine Ltd., the show that says bugger the politicians & bureaucrats & all the other bossyboot busybodies who try to run our lives with our money; that stands tall for free enterprise, achievement, profit, & excellence, against the state-worshippers in our midst; that stands above all for the most sacred thing in the universe, the liberty of the human individual.

[Music up, music down!]

I won't say it's great to be back, because in the week I was away, the battle for freedom became harder. The disarmament of the nation proceeded apace as Comrade Lenin Clark, "good friend" of the butchers of Tiananmen Square, made it clear she is going to abolish our air force & navy. Recommended minor improvements to the Resource Management Act were rejected & new changes announced that will make the Act even more fascistic - greater emphasis is to be placed during resource consent hearings on "historical significance" & "iwi management plans" - meaning private property ownership in any real sense will be even more a thing of the past. As if to underscore the fact, Conservation Minister Sandra Lee unilaterally canned a $100 million canal development project, a Hopper Developments scheme, in Whitianga. Hopper Developments have lately been spending ONE MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR in the Environment Court seeking approval for this & other projects. There are currently over three thousand applications before the court, some of them having to wait up to three years to be heard. On top of all this, the government made it clear it will be pressing ahead with its plans to mandate separate Maori representation on the Bay of Plenty Regional Council - a harbinger of similar apartheid in local bodies all around the country.

Throughout last week I was immersed in preparing the next issue of my magazine, entering stories such as these in the Horror File, seething with disgust all the while at what a pitiful country ours has become - a country of government by the evil over the apathetic & the pathetic. But the picture is not entirely bleak. There is resistance to the advance of Big Sister's tentacles. The valiant Lindsay Mitchell is organising a petition to have the Domestic Purposes Benefit examined - this in a country where bludging is seen as a moral right, where a quarter of a million children belong to families whose main source of income is OPM - Other People's Money. Joan Gaskell, Peter Cresswell, Russell Watkins Mike Gordge & others are girding their loins for a battle royal in the Coromandel to resurrect the Hopper Developments waterways project - there'll be a public meeting in the Whitianga Town Hall at seven on Wednesday night. Libertarianz finance spokesman Tim Sturm has prepared an alternative budget to Michael Cullen's upcoming one - it'll appear in the new issue of The Free Radical.

And there's the magazine itself - four extra pages this time to accommodate a surfeit of material, all aimed at promoting freedom & beating the bastards back. The bastards haven't won yet - & in spite of all the setbacks last week, I for one am still resolved that they won't.

To the barricades, liberty-lovers!
